In Long Beach, California, Neely Lejon Dinkins faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence, hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license in connection with the death of one-year-old Kaylee Alvarez. Kaylee’s two-year-old brother suffered serious injuries, but is expected to recover. Kaylee’s parents, Alex and Yesenia Alvarez grieve the tragic loss of their baby and struggle with the events that ripped their family apart. What started off as a walk with the children on Friday evening, ended as the worst family tragedy two young parents could be forced to endure. Allegedly, the drunk driver ran into the wagon carrying the Alvarez children and continued to drag them as he drove away from the scene until he reached his home. According to news stories, the police found one-year-old Kaylee dead underneath Dinkin’s vehicle in his driveway near Wilton Street and Redondo.
Dinkins is the father of four children himself.
